New Butterfly bag! Make this new bag for a fun quick to the store bag or use it for a cosmetic bag but whatever you use it for it is a fun way to recycle denim or use up some of those fat quarters your collecting.

Not a member of the magazine yet Don’t miss a single design or article!

Hoop Stabilizer, lay down your flap piece and tape to hold. Lay down a 6×4 piece of mylar and tape to hold
Run the butterfly design. Tear away excess mylar and trim away the excess stabilizer. Lay the lining flap piece
on top of the outer piece right sides together and stitch down the side along the bottom and back up the side,
leave the top open to turn right side out. Trim the seams and turn right side out. Pin to hold and top stitch

Pin the sides of the bag as shown and stitch to hold, repeating on the lining. Next find the center of the bottom
of the bag and match the center with your side seam and pin to hold, Stitch here to form the corners of your bag.

Slide the outer bag into the lining matching right sides. Pin to hold and stitch just along the back of the bag.
Turn right sides out and tuck the lining into the outer bag. Pin the flap to the open side placing the butterfly
against the outer bag. Stitch to hold.

Fold the lining of the bag under about ½ inch to match your seams and pin to the lining side of the flap.
Stitch either by hand or with your machine to hold.
Attach a snap to the flap and the bag where desired.
