My Vampire Rules 👄
Vampires appear in legends all over the world, yet every universe shapes them differently. Some burn in sunlight. Some turn into bats. Some avoid mirrors. Some sparkle.
Mine don’t.
In my Wind Woman universe, vampires follow their own distinct lore. These rules are built to support the stories I tell: emotional, character-driven supernatural romances with modern accessibility and gothic edges.
This will explain exactly what sets Wind Woman vampires apart and why they behave the way they do.

1. No Sparkling — Ever ✨✨
   This is one of the foundations of my vampire world.
   My vampires are beautiful, powerful, and intense, but they are not glittering statues. Sunlight reveals their beauty; it doesn’t reflect from their skin.
   Their appeal stems from charisma, confidence, and the allure of immortality.
2. They Look Like Intensified Humans
   Vampirism enhances natural beauty to a breathtaking degree. They appear like the most flawless version of themselves, model-level, movie-star striking.
   They fit easily into the modern world.
   They stand out without revealing themselves.
   They are stunning enough to tempt, but human enough to hide.
   This balance allows for:
   • small-town stories
   • road trips
   • detective-style investigations
   • believable everyday interactions
3. They Can Eat, Drink, and Party 🍷
   My universe doesn’t lock vampires into old limitations.
   They can eat human food.
   The venom absorbs it. They don’t need to expel it later. It brings them pleasure but no real nourishment.

They can get drunk. 🍸
It takes much more than a human, but it is possible.
This allows:
• fun holiday scenes
• emotional confession moments
• comedic chaos
They can get high.
Weed affects them lightly. Other drugs are avoided.
These elements allow my vampires to exist within contemporary life without feeling alien.

4. Sunlight Does Not Harm Them 🌞
   They walk in the sun freely.
   It doesn’t weaken or damage them.
   If anything, sunlight only makes them appear more striking.
   This supports:
   • summer romances
   • open-air battles
   • coastal and desert settings
   • contemporary realism
5. Mates & True Mates 💞
   Wind Woman vampires experience two levels of bonding:

7. A true mate — the destined match, rare and powerful.💓
   Male vampires purr for their true mate.
   Not constantly — only under specific circumstances:
   • when touching
   • during cuddling
   • after sex
   • to comfort an upset mate
   • and rarely when apart
   This purring is intimate, profound, and exclusively for their mate.
8. They Don’t Sleep — But They Do Rest 🕯️
   Vampires meditate instead.
   This can resemble sleep, but it is more akin to a stillness or a quiet reset.
   It creates:
   • moments of vulnerability
   • soft emotional scenes
   • peaceful interludes in chaotic plots
9. Fire Can Kill Them — But Only True Fire 🔥
   It takes high, intense heat to kill a vampire. A basic campfire won’t do it.
   This keeps vampires powerful, durable, and hard to destroy, reinforcing the danger and mystique behind their immortality.
10. Modern-World Friendly Traditions 📸
    These vampires can navigate contemporary society without breaking the magic.
    They show up in mirrors. 🪞
    They appear in photographs. 📸
    They can cross running water.
    However…
    They must be invited into a home.
    Once invited, they cannot be barred again.
    This rule supports tension, boundaries, and consent-centered storytelling.
11. Blood Rules 🩸
    Human blood is optimal.
    Animal blood keeps them alive, but it weakens them.
    Other effects include:
    • drunk humans → tipsy vampires
    • drugged humans → high vampires
    • sober, clean blood → clarity and strength
    This creates moral complexity without removing supernatural logic.
12. Herbs, Woods, and Magical Weaknesses
    Exceptional cases exist, rarely used:
    • Juniper + Hawthorne can slow a vampire temporarily
    • Rowan wood protects against witchcraft
    These details appear only in specific stories and add texture without overpowering the lore.
13. The Change
    Transformation takes about 12 hours.
    • Venom burns like fire
    • The body remakes itself
    • The heart continues beating slowly
    • Hunger is the first overwhelming sensation
    The transformation is dramatic, painful, and unforgettable — exactly as immortality should be.
