First Snow Storm

On Friday, it was nearly 79 degrees. Today, it’s about 31, and our first snow of the season has already left eight inches on the ground. The storm advisory lasts until six Monday morning, so I suspect the view from my sunroom will look different again by the time I wake up tomorrow.
Shadow, our year-old puppy, is convinced all this snow arrived just for her. We can hardly keep her in the house; every time she comes in, she’s ready to turn around and race back out through it.
I’m staying in the sunroom with a cup of coffee and the Christmas story I’ve been writing, though Shadow keeps drawing my attention away from the page whenever she goes tearing across the yard. I think I’ll let her enjoy her snow while I see how much of this chapter I can finish.
